Last night, I went to a public hearing about new chauffeuring/ride sharing regulations being proposed in Des Moines and left blown away by the overwhelming, diverse response pushing back on the city. Great job, neighbors.

I'm all for pushing back against the monopoly-maintaining policies of DSM in regards to taxis. However, I can't stand behind Uber and their misogynist and downright shady business practices. The app has been deleted from my phone.

I wanted to be there but couldn't make it. Glad to know it was a good turnout!

No problem Kevin. I've sent the TPS report you've requested. It should be in your fax machine.

Jon - if you don't want to support misogynistic companies in the tech industry, you might end up with a phone with very few apps

I get that. Uber is particularly bad, and in my mind at the moment with the shit they pulled on Sarah Lacy, as well as the legal, yet horrible tactics they're using to quell competition.

Great. Now Jon has to boycott Denver too!

The ordinance would not just be an Uber ordinance, it would also govern other companies like Lyft, so it's important to remember that when crafting policy.

I agree Alexander , I have been in favor of fixing our screwed up taxi regulations for years now

To light more of a fire here... don't penalize the drivers for acts of morons up top. Use uber, and complain after every uber ride in comments section.
