  • This hawk was brought into the UP Wildlife Rehab center by some folks on the beach with a car. I seriously can't imagine off-roading for an hour with a live hawk in your hands... but they did it.

    A week and a half later, I google for UP Wildlife Rehab and found this facebook post from them:

    Rehabilitating wild animals is a roller coaster. There are ups and downs. Often on the same day. Here is one of the ups. This Red-tailed Hawk was fished out of Lake Superior at High Rock Bay, dehydrated and exhausted. At first, it appeared she had no use of her legs. She quickly let us know that was not the case and after a week of rest, fluids, some good meals, and some treatments for those pesky flat flies – she was off!
