Yes I quite agree. Pilsner Urquell has a skunky musty aroma that's not appealing, followed by a skunky musty hoppy taste. But to listen to czechs, it is the greatest beer ever made. Then again most czechs think there is just dark and light beer.....they are too entrenched in nationalism to be educated of I.P.A.'S(lovely fruity citrus aroma with a hoppy + fruity taste) Pale ales light ales porters stouts etc - not aware of two beers top fermented(ales) and bottom fermented(lagers).
I prefer budvar but then I much more prefer 'ales' :)
