Sad Sad Sad day. posted

I just lost the last 6 months of my life documentation that makes up derek.broox.com.

if any of you have any of my articles saved/cached for any reason at all, please email them to me at derek@broox.com.

i am really a complete retard. kick me as hard as you can the next time you see me. either in the face, or square in the balls.

3:10 PM Update: Scratch everything I just said. I rule. Here is the story...

First, I go to empty my "audio" table in the database because i needed to re-organize it... well, instead i accidentally emptied the "articles" table. So, I basically deleted the past 3 years of my internet life. ... this is the point where I would have cried (if i was a pansy). However, I did get really really sad.

So I got a hold of harper and he was able to set it back to his last backup, which was 6 months ago. Alright, that's cool, but it still sucks because there were some good memories in the last 6 months (i.e. chicago, detroit, st louis, etc). So I was still really really sad and wrote the article above... Next, I checked my cache and was able to retrieve the most recent 10 articles, so now I have the month of January back.

THEN, brilliant Kevin Minnis told me to check google cache. I recovered every article except for number 119. But I managed to find the name and date of it, which is "Stupid College! (i am sad)" from 11/4/2003 and is basically about my student loans. So if you have that article cached... I will love you.

Regardless, I am happy again, and will be putting everything back into the database tonight.

3:28 PM Update: Tanner and I just had a race to see who could find the lost article. I won... (Yahoo Cache)

8:27 PM Update: Site back to normal! w00t!

Hey Derek, better check that hat size if you believe any of us think you're important enough to cache your entire website :)

Seriously, glad that it all worked out.
