  • No data caps with CenturyLink (for now). However, it is a tad bit pricier. I think Mediacom is doing this because they are losing cable subscribers and it forces people to keep cable and not stream shows online.

  • i thought they always had data caps and just never mentioned it but then again i havent had mediacom in over 5 years...

  • Brandon yea, this is obviously where cable companies are heading so that they can keep nickel and diming customers. My mom tried switching from Mediacom to CenturyLink and the shit barely worked, resulting in lots of support calls and frustration. So I've definitely got a bad taste in my mouth on CenturyLink.

  • I think it depends upon where you live. My neighborhood has great CL service and I have had very few problems. My only issues have been with their modems. Mediacom just upgraded their service in my neighborhood, but I have a bad taste in my mouth with them in the past.

  • Either way you go you will be left with a bad taste in your mouth.

  • totally. i've had mediacom out to my place MANY times. i am positive it was bad CenturyLink hardware at my mom's place, but after several service calls of them not being able to figure it out, it became easier just to switch back.

  • Haha. I know the feeling. I just got my notice about the cap from Mediacom after being out of town for a month and a half.
