We have a pool. Kids had a lot of fun in it over the years. It has a hot tube too. They are very fun but they are also money pits. We have lived in our house for 12 years and I bet we have spent $15,000.00 on the repair and upkeep.

I saw a house in WDM that built a heated outbuilding above the small pool. It also had a sauna and hot tub in it. Too bad the house and pool were both tiny. But that's the way to do it! Build a hotel in your back yard.

I grew up with neighbors who had a pool. It's a lot of work to maintain if you don't plan on using it a lot. We always had to help clean the pool before swimming. So my recommendation is to buy a house near friendly neighbors who own a pool.
