This remodel project is teaching me to not trust people. The temperature/pressure of my blood is so high right now, lol.

  • Ha, I'm not saying your crew is good by any means because I don't know but I find humor in a programmer trying to relate to construction. They can't just write 0's and 1's on the wall and it will become perfectly flat and square! Welcome to the beauty of earth and nature. :)

  • Ha! That's fair I suppose. My beef is more about reliability. My experience so far has been that people in this industry don't *really* give a shit about the overall job or their word. While I don't do construction every day, I've grown up around it. If time allowed, I have no doubt that me and mine would do better work than nearly everyone I've hired with a *lot* less bullshit. Relatedly: perfectionism is a bitch.

  • How I wish you and I were doing it. Unfortunately you got the perfectionist thing from your Pop. Sucks that theyre so lame. I remember building the river house and the framers built the entire front wall wrong and I went in on the weekend when they were off and rebuilt the whole wall myself. Sure it will turm out great in the end.

  • I feel you. My house damn near killed me. They do exist but trades that take pride in their work are next to zero.
