I move, Mediacom sends me a final bill and never asks for my cable modem. I pay them and they report me to a collection agency for the modem

  • Comcast did the same to me when I lived in Chicago.

  • If they knew a good computer guy they might have a system that would avoid that crap! fyi - Century Link could use one too! Anyone you could recommend?

  • AT&T did similar to me. I sent mine back and they said I never did. I sent them a copy of the receipt. They sent me to collections. I would send a copy of receipt to collection agency. They would tell AT&T and then I would have another collection agency call a month later. This went on for a year until I finally gave them money to leave me alone. This is why I will NEVER use AT&T again in my life.

  • I am in the same boat. And I can't get collections to remove it.

  • Are they reporting to a credit bureau? I'd worry about my rating.
