This weekend I found out that extreme cold can apparently crack the windows on your house

  • Damn.

  • I just went to a house the other day because their skylight busted from the cold Temps! If the seal between the panes gets compromised at all it will let cold in, creating moisture and condensation. Then, BOOM!

  • Yup:-/ with dual panes, if one pane is significantly warmer than the other, the temp difference can crack under the pressure between the panes

  • Yea, I think it was the last thing that happened. We had a table placed in front of a window and right above a floor register for a party... I think that when the heat kicked on in the middle of the night the table directed the hot air right toward the freezing cold window and... rad.

  • I have a cracked double pane window too. Any window company recommendations?
