So my nexus one is 267 pixels per inch, the iphone 4 is 326 ppi, why are the computers I look at 10+ hours a day only ~100 ppi?

  • seriously. get on that, guys. my eyes hurt already.

  • well most large 42" flat screen 1080 hdtv's are only 52 ppi. the bigger the screen the less ppi is needed. the new phones ppi is higher then needed.

  • well that's because your hdtv is probably 6-10 feet away from you, whereas monitors are only 1-2 feet away. when something is closer, that pixel density is more important.

have you seen the iphone 4 or nexus screen? after looking at my phone for a minute, my laptop monitor looks like doodoo brains.

  • I have not yet but have read the new iphone is a little too crisp and clear. and that the iphone did not need to be over 300ppi. HP did just come out with some 200ppi monitors thou.

  • good question... especially because the A4 can drive all those pixels so smoothly.
