Comedy Club, Cornell Gala, and my Stupid Clie
posted
This weekend was pretty laid back, booo. Friday night, Jason, Jodi, Nathan, Andy and I went to the Funny Bone. The comedian was pretty good... he offended a lot of people, which is awesome... "racism is gay" haha.
Saturday, kari came over for the Cornell 150th Anniversary Gala at the Des Moines Country Club. It wasn't a rockin party or anything but they didn't ask alumni for money once! ...I was surprised by that. Lots of good food, drinks, and a nice video. There were less than 10 people there that went to school with me (everyone else was old), but it was still decent.
My clie broke while trying to get a wi-fi signal there, which is sad. I can't figure out this error at all: DataMgr.c, Line:9524, Index out of range. I only get it after installing my wi-fi card and netfront 3. But it's really random. So I do a hard reset and erase all data... it works fine. Then I go home, sync it, and it asks me to reset. As soon as I reset I get the error again and have to do another hard reset. The only way around this is to remove all the files from my backup directory on my PC, sync, and then readd the files. Other people have found this error due to these apps:
saved_preferences.prc - stores trial registrations, views, and other preferences
aim 1.1 - i guess i should disconnect from AIM before disconnecting from the network
netfront 3.1
when the clie hangs while making some kind of connection
so, it seems like the easiest way to fix this so far is to just remove the saved_preferences.prc from my RD/backup folder and sync. however, who know when it'll break next.
maybe it was aim?
maybe i should only use networks when i know they're there?
maybe i should upgrade to the UX50?
maybe i should get wifi in my APT so that i can test more?
maybe i should sit outside of nick's house and use his wifi?
oh crap. i almost forgot about the lamest "club" i've ever been to: Miss Kitty's in west des moines (or maybe urbandale or clive). anyway, it would have been cool if there weren't so many wranglers...
and if there wasn't a spinning sequined saddle hanging from the ceiling with purple spotlights on it casting spinning saddle shadows on the walls.
also, how many clubs do you get to see tons of people in wranglers and cowboy hats dancing to "chingy - right thurr." and how many clubs end the night with 2 slow songs for people to dance to, haha.
