"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!! What a ride!"
I might be saying something more along the lines of, "Dude, that was awesome," but other than that, I think it's right on. I really really love this quote. This is how I try to be. It's been the basis of many tattoo ideas I've had... if I could ever step up to the plate and quit preserving my body.

haha. actually i've been talking to kari about getting her name written in cursive on my buttcheek.
but the tattoos i had in mind were "to live" and "to be" Not necessarily those exact words, but something with that general meaning.
as for location, i was leaning for the back of the arm, lower tricep.... then i saw a dude the other day with that exact tattoo. LIVE on the left arm, LIFE on the right arm. I loved it... but he beat me.
the one i really want is a huge crown on my upper back across my shoulder blades, but that's going to be super expensive and maybe not a good first tattoo.

Just get it. At least you won't be like me, and have to explain in full detail to everyone why you have guys in capes on your leg or Alice in Wonderland, a cat, a book, a lion, and some birds on your arm and chest. None of my tattoos are manly, oh well.

just to prove i'm not a pussy, i got the crown as my first tattoo.
